Ok, I wouldn't mind trying this "ReShade" thing out.

However, I got a few questions:

1. Does it work with AMD?
2. Does it work with the Steam Overlay?
3. Will it impact the framerate? (As in, drop the game down to 30 FPS?)


If it works with AMD & Steam Overlay & doesn't impact the framerate too much, then I guess that I could try it out...

the framerate of my game drops about a little bit but it not too laggy and also to the tv one too
sweetfx and reshade is different but it will maybe work for AMD or not.


...and for steam, i think sweetfx work on steam games. but i tried original thug2 with sweetfx and the frame down less than 30fps. this make the game so slow.

i test with reshade on thugpro to make old school tv styled but my frame to about 50 fps

Well, better 30 than what Dark Souls 1 on PC locked me when i had it...
15 FPS and it didn't even raise to 16.. EVER.

I think I read something about disabling depth access for a bit better performance, assuming you don't want to use DoF, AO, and so on. I'll look that up soon, though you can find it somewhere in the config files.

But yeah, many effects can hog performance. For that matter, Ambient Occlusion can tank FPS on practically any hardware, especially depending on the method.

The cheapest part of ReShade is the SweetFX/CeeJay color correction stuff. That's my mainstay. I've been addicted to that since THUGPro "alpha."

The only things that I plan on using is the color modification & sharpen.

By the way, I was testing ReShade in THPS3 and it also works with this method.

However, in THPS3 you need to:

- Disable anti-aliasing. (Game crashes instantly at startup.)
- Disable animated textures, particle effects, and shadows. (Game crashes after loading save file at startup.)

Ouch, I assume it's an imperfection of ReShade wrapping the DirectX 8 functions to DirectX 9, but I've never used it on any DirectX 8 games so that's just my initial guess. That's cool it works at all though.
