Whatever / Re: Dream Tony Hawk Levels?
« on: June 25, 2017, 02:46:02 am »
Can't believe you forgot Bangkok, it was teased in a cutscene.  Now that custom levels are possible we can make these levels.  Also, Paris was an incomplete level, but it's gonna get finished by the community.

Sorry, that rambling stemmed from thinking how cool it would be to have something like this to import levels in, a truly next-gen tony hawk game.  Even without that, I would love to see this come out, especially if it feels authentic to the neversoft games (at least closer than Robomodo ever got.) But I truly don't expect this will ever come out, so if nothing else happens having a game with no levels to import levels into made sense in my very tired brain that was for some idiotic reason up at 2AM while typing that drivel.  That being said, the fact you're doing this at all is AMAZING, and I am so proud of you for even trying. Still, weather finished by yourself or with help, it'd be awesome if after it was made it would allow imported levels at some point.  On a slightly unrelated note, to make sure that your physics feel right, maybe you could import a level from thug pro or thpsHD so you have a real tony hawk level to test the physics on?  IDK if that even would work, it's more complicated than that I'm sure, but I wonder if that would help in getting it to feel right.  What era are you trying to emulate anyway?  The thug physics?  The pro skater physics?  The next-gen Proving Ground physics?  I'm excited for anything you do here, man.  KEEP IT UP!

I have a suggestion: For now, just try to get the physics right and allow us to use this engine to port/make our own levels in for starters, there's a ton of that happening with thug pro now.

It'd be nice if you guys replaced the pro skater three levels from thug and thug 2 with the xbox version for the added ambient npc chatter and ambience and better textures, same for the other classic levels from thug and thug2 with their 2x counterparts for the better textures and ambience.  At least just replace the textures, the thug and thug2 and thaw level textures are worse than the xbox version.

Someone make a race mode.  Especially for the downhill levels and levels with a lot of slopes like Alcatraz.

Fair enough.

I thought this was a patch for the legal, purchased copy of THUG.  I have THUG 2, but it won't work on windows 10.

Yeah, but it was ignored.

Ah, ok.

Yeah, gas doesn't explode without the right ratio of vapor and air, but maybe it burned.

I noticed that while the thps3 update brought the peds and ambient chatter from the original game, they kept the soul-less classic mode levels (Canada, airport, and Los Angeles.)  Perhaps replacing thug2 levels is hard or impossible, but if it isn't, I'd like to get to experience the levels as they were in thps3 without buying thps3 itself (not worth it when I have thug pro.)

Flammable substances are not explosive unless vaporized and mixed with air at the proper ratio.  So yes.
"This trope comes from the well accepted fact that vehicles are generally full of flammable substances like gasoline. It, of course, ignores the fact that these flammable substances are not explosive unless vaporized and mixed with air at the proper ratio. At worst your "exploding" car would actually be a small fire. Needless to say, Rule of Cool is in full effect here. In fact, some people have demonstrated, if you toss a lit cigarette into a bucket of gasoline, you don't even get a fire: the liquid extinguishes the cigarette before it can set anything ablaze."

You'd think that there would be a topic about this
I just got an idea for the THAW balance system.
The idea as long as you don't rip it off from me like SoFloAntonio does with pranks:
Transparent edges that glow when arrow is near.
I just wish the balance meter from THAW comes back, most important feature imho.

Could you make one for thug 2 so I can play it without discs and it's patched?  I was excited until I realized that, duh, THUG is not THUG 2. What the heck is pinecone research study?  I googled it and got a survey site.
