General THPS(X) / Re: NEW LEVEL - PHILLY GAMEPLAY

Sick- love it! Great video!!
Most people tend to use Discord for posting videos these days it seems. Discussion forums are slowly going the way of the buffalo, but some still like this as a means of communicating.

What do you see when you click 'Manage Uploads'? Just a black screen? I'm able to manage my uploads OK.
What internet browser are you using?

For all looking to join the Discord: go here: http://thpsx.com/discord/ and then make us aware you joined in there- once we know you're a real person and you've made us aware you have joined we'll typically role you and you can converse from there. Thanks!

Based on what you posted I'm betting you're installing the levels that are in the new format for THUGPro 0.6.0.6 in the same way that you installed levels that are in the old format prior to The Update. I just about have a tutorial video ready outlining how to install levels that are in the new format. The way you tell the differece in our online Vaults is: any level that has the blue checkbox checked in the upper right-hand corner of the thumbnail is in the new format. Those that do not are in the old format. If they don't have a check mark you can follow the instructions from our original Custom Level video: https://youtu.be/IJxR7p2q6tg

If they do have the checkmark they are installed differently. When the video is up I'll link it in this thread.

I have had trouble with that level crashing my game as well. It worked prior to the most recent hot fixes, I'm guessing that something is causing a conflict somewhere. It was never playable online. So I don't think the issue is probably with you doing anything wrong, but rather the level files may have some issues with the current version of THUGPro.

Are you able to play other Custom Levels without issue?

You're missing commas after each track outside of the curly braces.
Code: [Select]
{
      "band": "Naked Eyes",
      "title": "Always Something There to Remind Me",
      "filename": "AlwaysSomething.bik",
      "genre": 0
    }
Should have a comma at the end outside of the curly bracket:
Code: [Select]
{
      "band": "Naked Eyes",
      "title": "Always Something There to Remind Me",
      "filename": "AlwaysSomething.bik",
      "genre": 0
    },
Do this for ALL tracks except for the very last one:
Code: [Select]
{
      "band": "Kool Moe Dee",
      "title": "Wild Wild West",
      "filename": "WildWildWest.bik",
      "genre": 0
    }
That doesn't need the comma.
See if that helps!

Hi Tiny, not sure if you are the same person who reached out on Facebook. But we have no control over the development of the mod. Visit their website: http://thugpro.com/ and you can reach out to them. I know they do frequent these forums so they may be able to take you request under advisement. Thanks!

Questions & Tutorials / Re: Developers
« on: June 07, 2018, 02:24:43 PM »
I can assure you the developers haven't forgotten about the mod, and there is a planned update soon. All of the devs on the mod do it in their spare time, all of them have lives, and jobs, etc so they work on it when they can.

Because this mod is being developed by an established team, I doubt there would be an option to hire out work on it to others. I would bet due to legal reasons it needs to continue to be offered as 100% free to play and cost nothing to use. This because it is based on a game that is copyrighted- thus I highly doubt there is any chance of getting money involved with it. Lots of other reasons I can think of behind that, but just doubt money would ever be a part of this.

One of my top things I feel makes for a fun and enjoyable CAP is flow. Typically when a CAP is just jammed with objects everywhere it feels congested and you find yourself constantly running into everything. Spacing things out, giving it room to "breathe" is a good thing. I always dreamed of making a CAP that had the space expanded as large as possible with limitless ability to raise and lower the ground as many times as one wanted without constantly running out of memory. This would allow for one to be as creative as possible and not have to be quite so constrained with the memory limit at every turn. A truly worthy successor to a "real" level could be built in that environment I believe. One that isn't packed so tight and flows like milk and honey.

So then, I agree with you warpig...I have never cared much to use pre-made half-pipes and full pre-made pool objects and the like in my CAPs. I will on occasion when memory is a concern and when something just fits well with what I'm building. I'd rather raise and lower the ground and use that method as walls and ditches and such and then use quarterpipes and the rail tool as such to make it more skateable.

Smooth flow is a key aspect of any CAP- too tight and I'm on to the next one without a second thought.

I think there is a slight chance that ATVI might do something for the 20th Anniversary of Pro Skater 1's release next year. However, my guess is it would most likely have to be called something else because Hawk is no longer working with them, contract is up and over, and I don't see how he would let them use his name unless the price was right.

I believe there will be more games made by Tony, but not with Activision and not with Robomodo (for obvious reasons). The last any sort of inkling that he gave on something he could be working on was a VR Title. Which further takes us away from the arcade style goodness that so many of us love about the THPS series. In my mind the future of this series rests with mods: namely THUGPro. Custom Level creators, like Sattan and Skater1014 and many others, are putting out quality original levels- I could see this eventually leading to a brand new "title" with select levels made by the community included. This is, of course, all speculation on my part- but this concept seems more realistic to me than another remastered title (we already got THPSHD as a remaster) for any of these games.

Openspy occasionally is down, my guess is the crashing issues has to do with that. Hard to know when Openspy is down, but the best option is to check again after a bit.
