Getting into character modelling.

so once i get a better computer, im probably going to do some character modelling for thugpro. i have some models ready to be programmed, and i hope that, with me going to college for graphic and video game design, this will help me develop my own models that i can use for characters. any tools that i need and tips on rigging are not expected, but would be appreciated.

i do have a question though: let's say i want to model a part of a level environment (from tony hawk or other extreme sports games) for use in the park editor. where do i go for a reference (i.e, texture vs model)?

Also, what characters do you guys wanna see rigged? like i said, i have a ton of models that i can rig for use for skater models in thugpro
