Welcome to the first Create-A-Park contest!

Rules:
1. One Park submission per user.
2. Submissions need to be uploaded by Friday the 14th to be entered in the contest.

*Contest #1 Guidelines*

Theme: "City"

Judging Categories: Look/Design       0-10 points
                             Playability/Flow   0-10 points
                             Theme Accuracy 0-10 points
                             Overall         

Judges: sk8ace, Blaze, Puke.

Judging will be live streamed

It's very great to see this contest happening, I am stoked and will gladly participate (as contestant, but if the community needs/wants me to judge, I could do that instead.)

Maybe we need to clarify on a few things, for example:

-What do we have to make? Obviously the park, but what about gaps/goals/video's/screenshots?

-Is merging/stacking/inf CaP space allowed?
-What games are allowed? Only THUGPro or others as well?
-Are hacking tools/custom textures allowed?
-Do we need to make new parks, or are you allowed to submit one you made prior to the contest (which so happens to fit the theme)?

And:
- Will we do the 3-part/week type of contest I came up with? Or is it just making a park and picking the winner(s)

I am following your guide so week 1 is park only.

going for the 3 weeks plan and see how it goes. This is more of a trial and error contest. If we need to change things up, we will.

Can contestants also be judges? Like if we don't have the ability to vote for our own parks? If not, I'd like to be a judge and hopefully we'll do another contest and I can enter then :D

In my opinion, voting can be manipulated easily, so I am against it. Seperate judges judging people who participate seems best to me, as I suggested in the first place.

It powers on but no lights, no display and it shuts down after a few seconds, but fans spin.

I submitted my entry. I took about 4/5 hours  today to make the park. I am not too proud of it, but it has been a while since I used CaP in a more serious way.

I hope it gets the attention it deserves,  but it shouldn't win. I ran into memory issues and crashes in the making. A few spots arent exactly how I planned them and some spots are simply empty.

I'd say my park is accurate to the theme, and has some originality, although skatewise, it's a bit lacklustre.

I made the park, without any gaps/goals/screenshots/videos.

I wish everyone best of luck with this contest and a lot of (crashless) fun making their parks.

If anything else is asked of me, I am willing to change my park in helpful ways (crash-preventing, for example)

First, lets start things off with an overview of the level. Here you get a pretty good sense of the scale of the level.

Remember the Alamo? I do anyway. The Alamo here features a spine transfer area, a couple of kickers, and rails to grind/wall plant combo with

Here we get to see a close up of the river walk. A kicker is here to launch you from one side of the river walk to the other side, when in there you will be able to skate on a QP in the garage of a skyscraper. Also check out that bridge.

I completely forgot about (KoTH) spawns (cries in Finland).

Hopefully it won't hurt me chances too much. I admit I kinda rushed it.

Thanks Gone, I knew how to do it, but some others might not, hence why it's a good thing to post here.

PS I want to say that FL!P's entry wasn't specifically made for this contest (I think) I played that map (or something very similar) before this contest was officially announced. I don't know how you judges feel about it, but I would've preferred new entries. It's still a good CaP though, and I hope he can get a chance.

It's fine to use a premade one. We can fix that by making the future themes more specific.

I think the winner should pick the next theme instead of becoming a judge.

I wasn't replying to you in the sense that you were unaware I was reply to your statement that it should be available.
Doesn't get any easier than simply downloading to the save directory. Any other circumstance and they have the directory location they'll need to move the downloaded file to.

We need to make sure people are willing to put that much effort in. My guess is that we will end up with single weekly contests for best park and drop the rest. I'll make a pole for people to vote and we will go from there.

3 Weeks is a very long time to make GAPs and Goals. They are also completely extraneous; they take up more space on the file and you can just do most goals in multiplayer anyway (Unless you want to do Goal Attack).

A good map can be made in just a couple hours. Extending the time limit makes it very tempting to over do the park and have it extend beyond the ram limitations of THUGPRO (It still has most of the same limitations of the original THUG2, which is 12 years old now).

Besides with a 1 week timer, we can cycle through map after map much faster and have a more active community.

No, not 3 weeks for gaps and goals, just 1 week. the second week.

The reason why I think we should do a week and not just a few days, is because not everyone is able to play much. some people only have a few hours per week.

You are right about the limitations, it's bothersome, with little to no workarounds.

Goal attack is actually a really unique gametype. Much more original than just playing Trick Attack like everyone does.
