I see that a lot of other people have had this problem and i have tried every solution that those posts have offered and none have worked. It says connecting to openspy and stays that way when i cancel and retry it crashes i have already allowed thug pro in the firewall and turned off windows defender. I am using windows 10. If anyone could help me i would be so happy because i have wanted to play online for a while.

Hi there,
Sorry for your connection issues.
Usually when this issue comes up, a program or firewall blocking the connection attempt.
The next step should be to disable the windows firewall completely (along with any other firewall/antivirus type programs).
After that, I would look into your router and see if something is blocking the connection there.
-
I have turned off all antivirus and the firewall and i have the same issue but i will see if it is something with my router
-
Does this site load for you?
http://openspy.org/index
-
yes it does
-
That's good. Means you can still connect to the same server that thugpro connects to.
-
this might be weird, but whats the alias your using? that made the difference for me
-
I saw the post you made and originally i had color stuff with the \\c# stuff or something like that then i read your situation and got rid of that now it just says CaS
-
What is your thugpro username? I might be able to see your failed attempts from the server side.
-
The name i am using in the online preferences is just a normal CaS is that what you meant?
-
Yes, the display name in the online prefs.
-
that is CaS without any color variation
-
Not seeing any failed attempts on the server side. Maybe boot in windows safe mode and try logging on? Something is blocking the connection.
-
okay ill try that
-
the same problem occurs in safe mode nothing changed
-
What router do you use? There might be a firewall in it. I would temporarily disable it in the router and try. After that, port forwarding.
-
the router says witrotech on it I don't know how to go about disabling the firewall on the router itself
-
There is usually a login page for the router. Most are http://192.168.1.1 (http://192.168.1.1) Ones like Comcast are http://10.0.0.1 (http://10.0.0.1) Once you login, you can change the settings.
I would open up ports 5153,5154 and 6667 UDP+TCP
Edit:CelestialBridge
I think yours is http://192.168.0.1/admin (http://192.168.0.1/admin) or http://192.168.0.1/administration.asp (http://192.168.0.1/administration.asp)

I have another test that anyone with connection issues can try. You need to have Telnet Client on your windows computer.
Follow these instructions to enable it.
https://www.rootusers.com/how-to-enable-the-telnet-client-in-windows-10/
After you enable Telnet, Open a CMD and type "telnet 107.161.19.71 6667"
If you get an error message, Something is blocking your IRC traffic on port 6667. Some antivirus programs block IRC by default. You will need to allow IRC on port 6667 in these programs or firewalls in order to connect to thugpro online.
If you get connection messages to Swiftirc, then that port is open and something else is causing your problems.

This should also be its own post, pinned in one of the sections. Very useful test

Good idea. I'll pin a connection troubleshooting post.
