Hello THPS community.
Whenever my friend Zac hosts a game, there's issues.
When I join his game, my game will crash (THUGpro.exe has stopped working) in about 10 to 60 seconds of playing in his room.
However, when I/anyone else hosts, we can both join and play just fine, although I do notice him lagging sometimes.
I run Windows 7, he runs windows 10, if specs matter, go ahead and ask, but I doubt it should.
Things we've tried so far:
-Run as administator
-Run in compatibility mode (we both used windows 7 compat.)
-Both use the golden board (some Polish player, can't remember his name, claimed it would work)
I can also say that this is the first time I've encountered such issues. The game has never crashed/lagged badly for me.
You can contact me and talk to me if it would be easier

Thanks for reading and we'd appreciate any kind of help

Maybe it's the map or the CAS.I tried using the Iron Man skateboard in a game and i crashed instantly. Can you give a screenshot of your CAS?
-
Hey William, thanks for responding. If what you're saying is true the golden skateboard thing that one player said might make some sense. My CaS isnt too special and he used the standard skater. I'll send a pic later if you need. The map never mattered, we tried several. (Except custom parks)

If you open up your THUGPRO folder, there's a text file named Thugpro, open it up and find the logs with the most recent dates, and send them to sk8ace, he can probably tell you what's causing it.
-
I can't find it? maybe I'm stupid.
-
I just don't know.
-
Does this help?

Right click on your thugpro.exe and click "Open file location".
You should see a thugpro.log file, open it up and see what the last few lines say.
This log file is not very detailed.. apparently it's not very accurate either.
[23-08-2016 @ 23:59]: Couldn't open shaders/PostEffects.fx (3)
You will probably see something like this. This is what most of us get when we crash.

Thank you very much sk8ace, does this information say anything?

I also got some of this, although I don't know if it's related.
-
I get those too. Nothing very descriptive..
Crashes are very hard to narrow down. Some days I crash all the time and others I don't at all.
I have had some luck manually adding thugpro.exe to the windows firewall inbound/outbound allow rules.
-
Yeah, THUGPRO online is very unstable.
That's why I don't play it online as often anymore.
-
Hey everyone! Thanks for all responses and help. For some unknown reason, my friend is able to host without others crashing or lagging. I don't know how or why, but I'm satisfied :)
-
And then it happened again. GG thugpro, gg.
-
The devs are working to fix the stability issues. (http://thmods.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=679#p3796)
All that you can really do is to try working around those crashes or being patient with the whole ordeal.
-
Well, THUGPro is gonna receive a major hotfix someday but definitively not very soon AFAIK, hopefully it will fix all these bunch of crashes.
I mean, darn, is this update THAT unstable? lol
So for now, i think you'll have to get used to reconnect and/or lagging, unless someone here just pulls out their workaround out of their sleeves, which i haven't seen so far... Yet.
EDIT: TomoAlien beat me to it, damn, you're probably reading my mind, aren't ya? :p

Your passive aggressive mentality is what makes me avoid you.
I was a blonde one away from giving you an unreleased launcher to test in regards to your other topic but yeah good luck to you. *winky face*
-
Well, today me and my friend are in luck again, but who knows it might change :P
-
Anddd crash (kills self)

Hey guys! Sorry for BUMP, but I have noticed something. The problem only seems to appear in CaP (which is annoying, since we do want to play those together). It doesn't matter which one of us hosts. If anyone has ideas, please let me know!

Yeah, online's very unstable right now.
That's why I haven't played online in a while.

Does it occur with every created park or just one in particular? If it's one map in particular then that means the CAP is overloaded with items and is causing you to crash.
-
Any CaP, no matter how small/empty/big/full.
-
That's all internal game stuff and cannot be fixed by anyone but the devs. I know they raised the limiter for park size which could have some weird side effects. Even on the unmodified games, CAPs were never really that stable.
The only thing I can think of that could freeze less is to drop your max players to 4 or lower when playing in a CAP.
-
It even crashes with just the 2 of us, but I've never tried to lower the player limit.
I have tested CaPs with one other friend and that all works fine, it also works when I join/host CaP with random people.
