Title: thpsx.com V5 Live
Post by: sk8ace on January 28, 2017, 10:54:33 pm
Hey guys!

We finally got thpsX V5 up and running. Bear with us while we make sure everything is working as it should.

This was a major update so you can expect that some things to need fixing.

Just like the forum update post, you can use this to let us know what you like and don't like. We will be tweaking minor things here and there and would gladly like some external input.

Thanks!
-thpsX Team

I think it looks great. I kinda think the forums and main page should share a similar color scheme though to be honest. I still think the main page looks great

Like I said in the PMs a few days ago, it's pretty good.
I'm even trying out the new forum theme for once and I gotta say, even that's a bit more improved compared to when it was first released.

My only suggestion (like I said before) would be to add a toggle between the classic table view and the current grid view for the community uploads for people who like the classic table view.
(I actually think that both look pretty good but I'm more used to the classic table view.)

Looks real good! But i think the THUGPro section needs a fix in the order. It's messed up,at least for my Windows XP.Look:

It looks just like when it even wasn't on thpsx.com! Amazing! c:

Also, could you guys make some sort of thing at the bottom that has a link to the thpsx home, skater section and CAP section?

Please? e_e

I don't have that issue.
Could be your browser, OS, or something to do with font sizes maybe?

That is most likely caused by outdated browser. Can you try another? I am not sure how to go about fixing it for older browsers. All new ones I have tested look normal.

i think he means usually there's some sort of dropdown navigation menu where you could easily jump to other subforums.

equally i think a index path up top would be nice too. like if you were in this topic you would see index->site suggestions-> thpsx.com v5 live

We have both already. There is a "jump to" drop down at the bottom and the GPS Icon on the top right is the path, aka breadcrumbs.

Yea, i made the suggestion very vaguely, my bad, but basically, i was (still am) asking for a way to access the thpsx home and community uploads while on the forums via a link or something, placing it either at the bottom of the forum or one of the avatar menu options, that is, if it's not that much of a hassle.

I see what you mean. I will look at it and figure something out.

Are you accessing the forums from the main site (http://thpsx.com/forum/) (with page header/links)? or are you directly accessing the forums (http://thpsx.com/forums/index.php) (with no page header/links)

SK8.William: What browser are you using? If you're on Windows XP and using Internet Explorer, then I believe you would only have IE8 which this site wouldn't support as it uses certain elements needing CSS3 and HTML5. I'd recommend, as sk8ace did, that you download and use Chrome or Firefox. If, when using one of those browsers, the issues still persists, please let us know and we can investigate further.

The reason we went with the bluish/turquoise on the forums is the yellow that we're using on the site was VERY strong as the primary color on the forums. The bluish color is a complimentary color to the yellow, and you'll see we used it in other places besides just the forum. In the Community Uploads section and the THUGPro Live Stats we use the blue. But it would probably be good to bring in some of the yellow to the forums as well to tie it in stronger to the rest of the site. Good feedback- thanks! The focus right now is to get the bugs worked out from everyone's reports, and then add some functionality and make some additional tweaks.

No header/links (http://thpsx.com/forums/index.php), even when i checked this site on PC. :l

We're working on a fix for this. The forum software has specific ways it has to be embedded on the site. We think we have a fix in-mind but need to implement and test first. I'm going to try working on it tonight.

I added links at the bottom of these forum pages to the main site. You should stick to the main site and not the direct forum. That way you always have the header on top and the slide out menu to navigate to the rest of the site.

Post by: ShutMeUp! on January 30, 2017, 11:37:40 pm
Aight, thanks! :D

I got a bit used to the direct forums so yeeaah, i'll see if i can get used to the thpsX home this time.. <_<

Bad news, something happened.
When i visit this (http://thpsx.com/forums/) page (and now also the direct forums), this is happening.

This happened once i think after clicking the "Home" button while on the non-direct forums.

After that, these won't go away! D:

Also happening on direct forums... D:

But yea, problem partly solved! :p

Hit the X and it will close. Or maybe you are still using that weird browser. Seriously, use a good one lol.

Edit: I guess your browser loaded with the menu open. It is set to be closed by default and only open when you hit the Button with the 3 horizontal lines.

Can you take one more screen ShutMeUp after refreshing everything? Your links were showing up as purple and shouldn't be. I think I fixed that...

The purple thing is part of UC Browser, lol, it happens when clicking a link, stays through the entire session so that isn't something you gotta fix! ;)

It's weird, cuz not only there isn't an "X", but also that if i click the menu button, it only makes the middle line dissapear. :l

Hitbox shows only the upperleft corner of the button, no matter where i click the menu button.

I don't think that browser supports the CSS being used that operates the menu. Try Chrome or Firefox.

That hamburger button animates into an X on tap. I'm wondering if your browser doesn't support CSS3 animations. If, when the menu is open, you tap the hamburger button again does it close the menu?

Post by: ShutMeUp! on January 31, 2017, 12:20:47 am
Yea, i don't think it supports it.. <_<

Puffin does, tho, but come on, it's puffin, it supports flash like a PC browser does, lol

EDIT: The built-in browser and Chrome seem to support it. Boy, this browser is from the stone age, geez, lmao

EDIT2: I realized Naked browser is another browser, not the one that came with my phone. Oops..

I installed that browser and got the same results. You need to uninstall that POS and get something better. What a terrible browser! It wants permission to make phone calls?! Hell no lol.
Title: Stone age browser is stone age, lol
Post by: ShutMeUp! on January 31, 2017, 12:31:04 am
Well, might not uninstall since the clipboard feature is actually kinda useful but i think i should try browsing this site with something else or might as well just contact the UC devs or something, like i haven't done it this week already, lmao

I think all browsers have clipboard access unless that is something specific to your phone.

By clipboard feature i meant the thing on the tools menu called "Clipboard", that things keeps track of all things you copied, but yea, i'll try to use chrome for this forums. :p

Sigs are "fixed" now. For whatever reason, it added weird stuff.. but you can modify them now and they will save.

Edit: I manually went through and fixed everyones sigs. I only broke one (Sorry Skater1014).

I only broke one (Sorry Skater1014).
First you deleted my skaters when you were removing Skatefilter's & now you ruin my signature.
You must really hate me lol.  :)

Anyway, my sig's showing up normally for me. I'm guessing that it's already fixed.

I know that this is a really old thread but remember this issue that ShutMeUp had about the menu not closing?

Apparently it wasn't just their browser, I'm getting the same issue on both the 3DS and Wii U's internet browsers.
Seems like the only time that I don't have this bug is on PC.

It's likely that neither of those browsers support the javascript/css used to make those menus work. I will look into it and see if there is a way to make a separate menu for unsupported devices/browsers.

It only does that bug on the forums btw.
The menu works fine on the main page.

Good to know. That one is different than the main page one.
