Whatever / The Making Of Tony Hawk's Underground 2
« on: June 21, 2018, 05:38:04 pm »

This video was ripped from Official Playstation 2 Magazine Demo Disc 55, released in the UK in January 2005. I couldn't find it by searching for the title, so I uploaded it.

Anyone play Ark on xb1? 8) Anyone interested in playing official pvp, we can team up. I'm big in another server (can't tell you which one ;)), but I can transfer a bunch of stuff to start a new tribe in another server, and if you earn my trust you can come to our main server. If you're not on xb1, you can get it on PC/PS4 as well, but I can't help you on those.

Here are a few screenshots to give you an idea of what it's like:

Moving a rex across the Island

Killing someones tames that raided me

Painting that same guys base pink (trying to make him quit)

In one of our bases

From a big raid

Inside one of my solo bases

One of my new friends (if you get caged and cared for you can't leave the server with your high level character ;))

Thanks for the post TNT!

Believe me, the auto kicks aren't personal. We'll get something worked out in the future, I'm sure.

It's not like we wanted to do any of this.

I deleted the post lol, but I appreciate the response. I know it isn't personal.

To everyone else, basically FreedomSpy and OpenSpy exist separately. Technically at this very moment in time, I have personally confirmed the more secure and private option is OpenSpy. At this point in time, I can personally, as a normal user, connect to FreedomSpy and actively log every user's ID who connects to it. I can start building a database of users and their IDs. FreedomSpy may also have a unique GS ID structure, which may hinder decoding IPs, but they aren't random. Even though this was something I could personally do on OpenSpy in the past with the same method, it does not work at this time, as they have increased the security. This is no fault of OpenSpy or FreedomSpy, it's an exploit that has existed since it was GameSpy, and they never intended to fix it. Both FreedomSpy and OpenSpy admins will always have the option to track users, and the option to use that data for whatever purpose. At this time, OpenSpy may or my not be logging users. At this time, FreedomSpy is logging users for the purpose of reflecting user data on Snipes website. This isn't terrible, or horrible, and he's not doing it in secret.

Here is a screenshot of being connected to FreedomSpy and it's channels:

Differences I have noticed so far in FreedomSpy are that Snipe has nulled the GameSpy Gamekeys for all titles, which as far as I know is meaningless, as the keys were used in the past to fool the actual GameSpy server into thinking you were connecting from the game of your choice, instead of a IRC program. FreedomSpy allows up to three connections from a single IP at a time. As stated, FreedomSpy also has a unique ID system.

OpenSpy did the right thing in my personal opinion by denying an outside source the ability to scrape user data to be posted on his site. At the same time, I feel that Snipe did the right thing in hosting his own alternative for his site, and openly admitting the data will be used on his site. With that said, Snipe isn't posting IP addresses, just usernames of who has connected. He's done this in the past, and it is a unique feature to his site that is honestly pretty cool.

As for the 'privacy' and 'getting past bans,' generally you have to be a toxic disease in the community to be banned from OpenSpy, and as I've stated, OpenSpy currently offers more privacy, from the admins and as protection from the community. This is proven further by their decision to not let Snipe scrape data. That was an action of privacy protection.

As a mindless suggestion that I have absolutely no knowledge about, nor if it would work, FreedomSpy connecting to OpenSpy rooms after the lobby may be a way to separate it entirely. If I'm correct, and I may not be, the rooms being displayed in the FreedomSpy lobby are from 'thugpro.ms9.openspy.net' port 28910. I'm not sure if this could be used or not, but perhaps OpenSpy could block the FreedomSpy IP from accessing that data, which would force Snipe to take it a step farther and have separate rooms from OpenSpy users, forcing all FreedomSpy users to edit their game or hosts file, meaning any new Thug Pro user will go through OpenSpy first, never having contact with FreedomSpy users.

Even if possible, that doesn't necessarily mean it's the right thing to do, but to enforce bans it may be necessary.

---------------------

Full privacy disclosure (without mentioning any names). Nothing is as private as you ever think. Take it from me. For a very long time I logged all the THPS GameSpy traffic, and I wasn't the only one. There was even an incident one time that led to me and someone else logging all OpenSpy traffic for one day when it was in it's infancy. I wasn't the operator or admin of either, that was as a user. In both cases the operators or admins were unaware of what I was doing. At the end of the day, you can't focus on this and forget that Thug Pro is worth having your IP scraped. ;) At least if you choose FreedomSpy, or choose to remain with OpenSpy, it's because you're playing Thug Pro, and isn't that what this season is really about? 8) Merry Christmas THPS family

On the whole laptop issue, check out Nextbook. I was able to pick up one with a detachable keyboard from Walmart for 100 dollars, and an 8 inch one with no keyboard on Amazon for 50 dollars that charges with a droid charger. Both run full Windows, both came with 8, both had a free upgrade to 10, the 8 inch one literally didn't have the space to do the upgrade, lol. Believe it or not, they run Thug Pro, and are great for trips. I use the one I upgraded to 10 regularly to play XB1 anywhere I am in my house with the Xbox Streaming feature. Works great.

As for ThugProPSP, though it will most-likely never see any development, it could still be used in the PPSSPP emulator, which is excellent and supports online play. In the past I've tried to bring some attention to it, because using the emulator we essentially have THP8 PC online right now, and it runs smoothly on my pc. PPSSPP is also supported on android and doesn't crash often, it's just slow and depends on your phone.

I meant SkateFilter5 so sorry if you thought I was talking about you. I'm all for modding games, hell... that's why I support PC as a gaming platform so much and the reason why I'm against DRM.

As a matter of fact, I have created a BIG Cheat Engine table that I'm not releasing to the public (for obvious reasons). I've shared snippets of it with Skater1014 and no one else. Also, quite a few things in it wouldn't have been possible without some guidance from TNT's tutorials, so thanks for the info.

Again, sorry for any confusion caused.

AH! I thought you wanted them to ban BlazE. I was hurt.

I knew it! :P
See, blaze? It wasn't you! Now please, everybody, let's just forget this entire arguing over a tiny confussion and ban who deserves to be banned, okay? ^-^

Or else im gonna get the fuck outta' here.

I like this idea

I think the most likely thing is that he took a THUG2 trainer and used it on THUG Pro.

However, if he's notorious for doing this, why hasn't he been banned from OpenSpy? In my opinion, this kind of behavior is bannable.

After all, isn't this kind of crappy behavior what killed online THPS? A bunch of assholes who take pride in RUINING other people's fun.
It's kinda sad because honestly... I don't like being harsh and I hoped that he might've sorted his act out after getting scrutinized, but since that's not the case I'm not gonna be nice.

I still like his CAPs tho.

I'll put it to you all like this. Thug Pro itself is a mod. Thug Pro is a product of a community of people like BlazE who modded the original games for years. If you would've pushed for bans to Neversoft or Gamespy or some shit then, this project might not exist today for you all to get upset over some tiny mods. If you remember correctly, Codebreaker and Gameshark used to release official balance and score mod codes day one, and people used them online day one. The debug menu has always been a huge tool and something everyone wants, and after YEARS of seeing people with it, releasing on Xbox 360 was one of the GREATEST things I've done FOR the community, the majority of people don't use it to cheat, even though they can. What it comes down to are a few noobs don't get the point, and they use it to cheat. BIG DEAL, ban them. They get the picture quick when they can't join any lobbies. Oh they VPN, you can't ban them like BlazE or I couldn't be banned? Oh well, ban them from your server again. They'll get the message that they're wasting their time.

It is literally already ridiculous that we have to handpick and debate between ourselves, which we do regularly, over what would be considered ok and what wouldn't to release. If this was any other game or if people we knew personally weren't developing it, you'd have 6x the mods available from us, and if people used them to cheat we'd just call them dickbags and continue to move forward. If everyone in the lobby knows the guy just cheated to win, it's not like he really won, and there's not any ranking system, so it's almost like it didn't even happen.

With all that said, Tomo, BlazE is the second-highest contributor aside from myself to TNThps. We work on many of these mods together, and we also help each other out on our individual releases. You hit me up and offered to design the TNThps logo, which you did knowing it was for a THPS modding site. Modding isn't evil, and nobody should be pushing for any modders to be banned. If everyone hates this SkateFilter guy, don't play with him. If everyone hates BlazE, don't play with him or join his lobbies. If everyone hates me, don't play with me either. You said you weren't going to be nice, so I'm not either. I'm being straight-forward:

If the community as a whole flips on TNThps at any point, we will release everything we have and move forward to another project. We have always said we will never release anything game-ruining, and it is recorded that we have tried to maintain that standard for a very long time. This one person getting one mod and using it to cheat online to piss people off wasn't planned, it wasn't on purpose, and it doesn't even deserve this kind of attention.

General THPS(X) / THPS5 Xbox 360/PS3 release date pushed back?
« on: November 02, 2015, 11:27:59 pm »
I've been waiting for thps5 to come out on 360 so I can mod it and I was sure it was supposed to drop within the next week or two, and I go to check again today and all the sites say 12/31/2015 now, so I guess the release date was pushed back. http://tonyhawksproskater5.com is just loading a white page right now so I can't check it, but on all the major sites it changed. Am I just tripping?

It's not only that they're scared from what I can tell, you have to be in the same map in the same room to play together (which isn't anything new), but it's just impossible to get games going since it doesn't force every player to play like in the old games. They almost need like a matchmaking system in the menu so I could quick join a game on any map. I just want to be able to actually play them before the game dies.

Edit: on xb1 the current top combo on asteroid belt is 204,862,016 by this dude that hasn't been on the leaderboard at all until today, that's such trash.

Yeah, I really hate a lot of aspects of the game myself. I wish I could actually play some of the game modes, which is difficult on xb1 and I assume on ps4 as well. That would make me want to play more. The Battlefront beta comes out in a couple of days, so I can take a thps5 break for a while.

Man what's up with the glitch? I've been whoring my ass off to compete just to be beat by a little bit every single time I reach number 1, and everyone on xb1 denies up and down that they are doing anything, but nobody will link me a video to them doing a massive combo, and a handful completely ignore me even though I'm just trying to be friendly and chop it up.

PM me if it's a big deal.

Proof I've been whoring my ass off to compete:

I actually kind of like the direction the game is going. Future titles might be great again!
