Title: What other games deserve the THUGPro treatment?
Post by: Chatter on October 08, 2016, 07:09:46 am
What game series do you guys think should deserve a THUGPro treatment? (making a mod based on the game with the ''best'' engine/physics, and adding levels from all over the series and such)

I think Mario Kart pro would be really cool!

Based on the fan favourite Mario Kart Wii engine, custom tracks are being made for years now, including custom remakes of older/newer tracks. Obviously Mario Kart Wii already has 16 classic levels from other games, so that's a good start too.

I know we can play custom tracks online through modding and such, and online servers are up with WiiMifi, so there is a way to play like this.
But you would need a wii for it, and everyone would have to download everything and put it on their wii's seperately.

Theres an emulator, which through some clever tricks and editing, can support WiiMifi. (I've done it) It's very laggy unfortunately, and it can cause you to get banned online.

MKPro should be a seperate game/download that all Mario Kart fans can get, with custom controller support, online stability, and maps throughout the series and maybe more.

Leave your own ideas below!

Anyone remember Star Wars Episode 1 Racer on N64 (and DC/PC) ?

Loved the fuck out of that game. I got the ps2 sequal (I think it was called racers revenge or something) which was a bit lackluster, but still fun.

I think there was also a Star Wars Kinect game, with a podracer minigame.

I really wish we could get a game like SWE1 racer again sometime. Even a mod like how I meant this thread to be. Base it on engine of swe1racer, put more tracks/characters from 2nd game, and even the podrace minigame.

LittleBigPlanet Pro! (Which is kinda pointless because i think the maps can be remade on the level editor plus the bought outfits being able to be ported to later LBP games, still worth a try)

Smash Bros:
It would be awesome to encompase every Fighter, Every Costume, Every Stage, Every Trophies, and Every Event from all 5 games and project M.

Crash Bandicoot:
1,2,3,4,and Twinsanity

Grand Theft Auto 3D
Who hasn't wanted all of the PS2 Era maps in 1 game. Liberty City, Vice City, San Andreas, Bullworth, Carson, and Cottonmouth.

F-Zero
The best tracks from F-zero, F-zero X, F-zero X DD, and F-zero GX all in one game with the GP legend racers would be awesome.

I always thought that Project M was the THUGPRO of Smash.
Plus, I'm hearing rumors that Smash 4 might be getting ported to the Switch.

Not even close. It has many features and an awesome engine, but it falls short of being the THUGPRO of smash because of the smaller number of maps and charatcers. So I'd say Project M is 50% of what it could have been.

You've heard of the new PS4 remaster? I think it looks so cool, we haven't had a decent crash game in like 15 years. I hope this will be amazing.

A 3D Mario platformer PRO would be a cool idea as well IMO.

I really liked the physics of SM64, I played sunshine and a little bit of Galaxy, but those physics feel off. The way you jump, for some reason, SM64 felt perfect for me. Maybe it's mostly because of nostalgia.

Libertyernie's Classic Expansion Pack for Brawl is pretty nice.  I haven't used it in a long time though.  It includes almost all of the levels from Melee and 64.  The last time I played it, which was several years ago, only 4 of the Melee stages didn't work.  I stuck with version 4.51, because that version had all of the Subspace Emissary stages, which he decided not to include in later updates for some reason.  Versions 7.0 and 8.0 are available for download, but I'm not sure if the older versions are still available for download anywhere.  He also released a nice texture pack that improved on the alternate costumes of several characters, but it looks like the download link for that is broken now.
