Title: Story behind your Username
Post by: BlazE on November 18, 2016, 04:16:36 pm
Ever wonder where people got their THPS names? Share your stories.

Everyone seems to think my name BlazE is weed related. Well, it's not.

When I first started playing THAW online on PS2, one of the first people I befriended was a guy by the name of SmoKE, who also could be mistaken as a drug related name. We ended up playing Mortal Kombat together which is where his name was from, so we both ended up creating new alias's with Mortal Kombat themed names. Mine was BlazE, and his was now ReikO. It stuck ever since. As most ps2 players know, 5 letters was the ideal number of characters for hexing names.

That's the story behind my name, so spare me the "420 blaze it" jokes on thugpro  :P

What's your story?

(I don't think this thread already exists, if so I'll take it down.)

I used to tell a weird story that involved pictures of explosions and QuickTime. That was a lie, the name just popped into my head.

Mine is a wall of text the size of Trump's wall. You've been warned.

My name has always been "Kevin" but i used to have my nickname as "K3V1N" cuz kool kid is kool.
Then, one day on xfire (which is down now, unfortunately) i had to make a different nickname so i went by "Kevin4000", the number was picked because of the typical cartoons with inventions that end with a big number ("The Sculptinator 4000", or shit like that), long story short, i used "K3V1N" for everything, until the name was taken on a site i was registering to.
I decided to merge both and so "K3V1N4000" was my nickname, as time went by, i kept adding segments to the name, it got to this point: K3V1NoNaNeiNyaNazIsOMFGWhile

Well for my username I don't really know what to say. I usually pick ''LatinoRules'' as my username on most game, website and etc. I also like to pick''Juan'' cause after that I can say ''I'M NUMBER JUAN'' but sadly my real name is Pablo not Juan  :'(. So anyway I feel like I always have to have something with latino so I decide to put ''Latino Skater'' cause it make the more sense to me.

Shout out to ''ShutMeUp!'' The only other Latino I know on here

I get drunk and puke and shit
Cool Story Bro XD

My email has always had my real name followed by "1014" on it.
I always try to use that username ever since I got that email.

I only use the "Skater" part of it when it comes to THPS.
Back when I played THPS3 PC online years ago, I couldn't think of a name since I didn't want to show my real name in THPS3.
During those times I just went around as "Skater".

When I finally thought of a name, I removed the "Pro" from the default "Proskater" name and added "1014" to the end of it and I decided to stick with it.
I had weird variations like "$k@t3r1014" with randomly changing neon colors because I was like 10-11 years old at the time.

After becoming older, I realized that the symbols were stupid so I removed them (but still kept the changing neon colors) for the rest of my time playing THPS3.
OLD SCREENSHOT FROM 2012 INCOMING:

The only reason why it's "Sk8ta1014" in THUGPRO instead of "Skater1014" is because I wanted to use color codes and it wouldn't fit my whole name with the color codes.

Motivation.

Back in the early days of Brawl hacking, a user by the name of Phantom Wings pioneered almost everything required for brawl hacking.

Some of his inventions where:
File Replacement Code
Without this code, reprints of Brawl discs with the mods on the disc would be needed to use mods.

Brawl Box
A program that can edit the majority of the files used by super smash bros brawl. It doubles as both a model editor and a hex editor

Several Misc Codes
Several of the codes used in Project M. And the testing of features that would later be added into sm4sh where done in Brawl using codes: 7-Player Smash, Teleporting to the other side of a stage upon reaching the blast lines.which appeared in the Balloon Fighter Stage, No tags and huds, which where used in making brawl machinimas.

Brawl EX
Allows the game to have 100+ characters in the game.

And because I want to be able to do the amazing things that Phantom Wings did, so hence the wings part. But simply being as good as him is not enough. I want to go even further beyond, I want to not just apear from time to time and release something amazing. I want to be able to do that on a regular basis. Hence the Soaring part.

Plus my old user name, came a bit too close to exposing my real identity because it was an abbreviation of my first and last names, thankfully that old name was still kind of vague as too who I am was.

Originally, mine was sk8erace. I had to shorten it to sk8ace when we made *,.SN.,* because it all wouldn't fit.

I used to skateboard a lot.. so back in the ICQ days, I came up with the skaterace nickname. Basically saying I was the "Ace of skateboarding" (I was never really good lol)

Here's some of the oldest screenshots I have.

I was 11 and thought Chad Morgan sounded like a skater name when I made a custom skater for THPS4 on GBA, before I even knew there were console games and had a ps2.  Remember The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe movie?  I misheard "Maugrim" as "Morgrim" and that's where I got the idea for Morgan.  I haven't appeared in-game with that name after making a fool of myself on a maze where I didn't realize online didn't pause my movement.

I wrote a skit in Highschool for media class where I complained about stuff around campus in a kinda Daria-esq way. The catchphrase was "Hi I'm Ann and I tire of this shit". It was pretty bad and the video is long dead in the dust (thank god), but for those that saw it the catchphrase stuck.

I forgot to mention I'm the guy who plays as Death.

Well, I believe I started two years ago, back when it had an offline standalone version and was THMOD or something.  I asked mom for the game for Christmas, and last year I installed it.  It didn't come with a CD key, but I googled for them and amazingly it worked on the first result.  Then I started playing online.  One of the guys who saw me as It was a huge time-suck that kept me up at night, so I stopped when college started.  This winter break I'll play a lot.  Fun fact: 400 dollar computers can barely run this on lowest settings without fog or distance clipping set to really high ammount, either one makes the game almost impossible to play well.  It was the first and only game I ever played online where I could actually talk to the players.

Gosh oldest screenshots? Man I can dig some up from jway back when I'll have to see what I can find.

Not really the right place to ask, but karma is basically someone's rep. If a member stays long enough and posts enough (I think it's like a week, and a minimum of 20 posts), you can applaud (+1) or smite (-1) a member. Apparently 2 or more people smited you.

Yea, 2 people smited you but that can change, Chatter had -2 karma before if im not mistaken, look at him now! That'll depend on how you get along with the people, tho.

Talking about karma, i noticed mine is draining too slowly, i hope it's not one single user doing such thing and there's an understandable reason for it.

My THUGPRO name isn't worth shit, I just chose a dumb steam username that I had (You're Perplexing), and that's basically the name of all my social media garbage.

My Twitter handle, however, is a bit more interesting. Back in the 8th grade (So, last year), we had a french unit on theme parks. We learned all the terminology, all of the words, and by about 2 weeks, we needed an idea, and in about 4 weeks the entire unit would be over. My original idea was to make a park for the sole purpose of killing everyone that went inside. A bit edgy, but I made it a bit light-hearted. There were some rides that were mental (About 70 loops 300 meters in the air, for example), and just really dumb shit I put in for a giggle (i.e. a drop tower that never actually dropped; Instead, going into orbit around the earth.) Now, everything else had been lain down, but one question would remain: What the hell should I call it? It had to be something smart yet simple; comical yet grounded. At last, I had it, and this remains, to this day, my Twitter handle. CynicaLand.

Also follow me @CynicaLand (Shameless plug)

I believe the rep system is being abused. With no traces of who is repping who, we'll never know. If this forum hosting service is anything like vBulletin, there might be all sorts of different ones. (vBulletin would be great if this site ever got really big)

I've already contacted sk8ace to see if he can check but he told me he couldn't find out, my rep was back to 40 but i've been -5'd. I think i have seen a karma log forum mod, tho, oh well, im trying to see if i can figure it out by watching Who's Online then seeing if my rep dropped after such user logged in.

EDIT: I have been dropped one point and it isn't even 12pm, guess i know when to be on my guard now.

[]Black Magic[]

I used to be something else before this name. I started on THPS3 and I remember playing King of the Hill against some people who really knew what they were doing in this mode. Eventually I made it to THPS4 and that is where I began to play King of the Hill almost all of the time. I hated Trick Attack because it got boring doing the same tricks over and over and over again to get a high score. Graffiti was fun, but the levels were just too bland. The only mode I enjoyed playing was King of the hill. because it required skill. A lot of people make fun of the mode but you will lose if you don't know what you are doing.

To me KOTH, was the mode that defined how pro you were at tony hawk games because it required you to keep doing tricks, grinds, and jumps to both A. get away from your opponents. and B. Throw obstacles in the way of your opponents.

but a lot of people called us noobs when ever we would play this mode. (Of course THPS5 totally gutted out the king of the hill mode for what it is now today... a P.O.S. mode nobody plays.) But I kept playing it with so many other good players. I remember the matches in alcatraz. I had no idea how people were able to pull off getting up on the roof, and then getting back down. Doing all sorts of wall tricks... Ugh.

Then finally on Tony Hawks Underground, this is where I came up with []Black Magic[] And the whole idea of this character came about because someone decided to host a room that supported the KKK, and the person who was in the room called himself "White Power."

So I quickly went into the C-a-S and created a real quick version of a dark character wearing a purple jacket with green highlights. To symbolize in clothing that of a voodoo practitioner. And I called him []Black Magic[] (Of course these little squares were filled in with black due to the game not being able to recognize certain characters on the keyboard in THUG 1 or THUG 2.) And I went inside of the server.....

And he started playing King of the Hill. of which... surprisingly enough I was actually quite good at playing. I was so good at playing King of the Hill against this kid... that he kicked me from the room before I could win. So I went back in and he started another King of the Hill match in Manhattan.... And I kicked his ass again. So he kicked me out of the room again. Then he started spewing a bunch of racist shit my way. And then started a trick attack in Moscow.... of which is the noob level but a level where I can infinitely land all kinds of 900's in a row. After scoring about 15 million points I stopped. This kid was still going... and when he landed? only 7 million points. I got kicked once again.

And afterwards..... Someone came into my room and saw my character and decided to make a clone of it. So I uploaded my character for him, and he made the first []Yellow Magic[]. Thus spawned the idea of a clan that was more about colors. And yet... that is how this Black magic character, and the magic clan actually began.

The person who cloned my character had a .thpx tag at the end of their name. And I think it was dan? dave? derrick? I don't know but it was definitely a D name. And it was very short. And he spawned the idea for the []Magic[] clan.

The thought that the needs to be KKK server because they think so highly of them selves over every other player is pretty funny. You should of gotten your friends together to do raids on that server and troll the fuck out of that server.

I thought about that, but before I became []Black Magic[], I didn't have a lot of THUG 1 friends. I just had.... ugh.... Wesker69, and X_Infinity_Zero. And we were playing urban Chaos together for a while before we went to 25 to life.

I have many usernames - back in the 2005 when I used to play Tibia or some online games I named my character "Buszmen" which in polish (cuz yeah, i'm polish) means, colloquially, a man from the jungle. Then, like in 2007 or earlier, friends and I were having fun playing GuitarHero. I've seen a song Jimmy Eat World "The middle" and wanted to play it, cuz, well, I liked the name of band. I don't even like this band and songs of it, except "Pain" (from THUG2 I guess) xD but a name Jimmy stayed with me since this time.

Rest in peace, my favorite Deathrock / Gothic Rock singer and poet. Also SMU good to see you around bro, you're one of my best friends around this community and one of the most active posters around here, keep it up because I love the content and the good vibes.

Well, now im officially confused about where were you born! :T
I always had stored in my brain "Rozzy was born in spain and went to live to venezuela" soooooo yeah, now im confused. :c

Not like i have forgotten ya, i can still edit posts. :T
I HAS THE POWUR!! <Insert voiceclip of Ricky saying "LOL" out loud and saying it means "Lots Of Laughs">

Also SMU good to see you around bro, you're one of my best friends around this community

Oh! Likewise. (And thanks!) :3
But i cannot say the same because...
YOU'RE MY BESTIEST FRIEND OF THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY! XD 😄

...and one of the most active posters around here, keep it up because I love the content and the good vibes.
Most active? Ehh, not really, life itself keeps me too goddamn busy.. <_<
And thanks again! But i don't really get the content part... Once my PC BSoD to KIA state i got nerfed to the point of not being able to progress on any actual work, so far, i can just "planificate" as we can call it. (And boy do i have too much surprises to be made, even readying some!)

Oh well, in other words, nice seeing you on this forums once again! n_n

I used to just go by "shotguns" when I played online as a kid. My reasoning, of course, was that I thought shotguns were cool. I remembered this when I got into THUG PRO, and since I don't recall having ever used that name anywhere else, I added a question mark to the end.

Well, basically, I`ve used this name ever since I can remember. I grew up moving a lot, and music was my outlet. My favorite band is Deftones, and they have a song called RX Queen. Well I decided to name myself way back when I was little, and first playing PC Games. So I named myself RX K1NG. It just stuck, it`s unique because nobody has it. on anything. So now that`s what I use
Title: Except my name is somehow overrated. Oh well, i'm the ShutMeUp number 4000!

(Psst. I named myself after a song too, shoutout to you for that!)

My username is also my newgrounds tag, youtube handle, and xbox gamertag. the zeo part comes from Power Rangers Zeo (I've been a power rangers fan for pretty much my whole life.) my first name is alex, and my last initial is o. put it all together and BABOOM! zeoalexo.

Years ago, I started using the internet and signed up somewhere, can't remember where. When I did...I think I was told that people online usually add "123" to their usernames, no matter how silly it looks, so ever since then, if I sign up somewhere, I'd call myself Xane123, and alternatively Xanem123/Xanem1 if Xane123 is taken.
(I just signed up here, also! Hello, thpsX!)

Well this might seems a bit awful but mine's from World Of Warcraft. And before I had this name my Gamertag was WILD GRANNYZ because I tried to get my granny into gaming at one point. Before that its just a blur but since I wasnt online it was probably just my irl name.

I couldn't sleep one night and was thinking about how my previous username(s) sounded too childish so I changed it to this because I thought it sounded pretty decent, I decided to keep it when in the span of a day I heard 3 people pronounce it differently and I find joy in hearing how people would pronounce it. In case anyone was wondering my previous username was "TheBigD", it was supposed to be a joke because I'm the fat one in my friend groups and my name starts with "D".

Idk if this thread is still alive but for me it was first kind of a joke

My original Username was User for most of the time (i know very original) but then everyone of my friends started getting nicknames in japanese and i wanted to show em how dumb that was so i got me the japanese alphabet and started Spelling my irl name  T=Chi O=mo B=zu I=ki A=ka S=ari    so my name Chimozuki-kaari was born   then months later i started making music and my name was to long for a produzer name so i wanted to just use chimo (i misspelled tho and my Soundcloud name ,,Chimu'' was born) then i found Thugpro and now i stick with Chimo for games and Chimu for music
in rare occasions im still called usermed,user,usergaming,xxuserxx64 on some games but thats just where you cant change your name (also on twitch .-.)
