Got a response on thps5's FB page:
"Tony Hawk Games: You're right that there are still a lot of unknowns... We JUST announced the game.
There will definitely be more info between now and when the game is released.
It sounds like you're pretty skeptical.
We totally get that, and everyone on the team is working crazy hard to make sure this game lives up to the name THPS.
More info will be coming out in the future, and eventually the game will be released, and then everyone will let us know whether we got it right. "
-
I think they are still going for the shotgun approach.
"More info will be coming out in the future, and eventually the game will be released, and then everyone will let us know whether we got it right. "
Why wait till after it's released to see if they got it right when they can check with the community right now?
We might have their attention.
If you guys have anything you want too add to the list of things that Should be in the new game, post it here before it's too late. Then we can at least say we tried to help.

If anyone at Robomodo or whatever is reading this, please do what you can to bring the game to PC. More importantly though just play a lot of THPS4 and THUG1 and really nail what makes those games so smooth and timeless.
General shit
- Proper spin button assignment! (L1/LB should be left spin, R1/RB should be right spin). Really just good control config options.
- No 180 spin taps or option to disable. Being able to adjust your angle by a very small degree is critical.
- Drop downs!! Please, drop downs. R2/RT while grinding should drop you off the rail.
- Wallplants would be fucking amazing, especially if done right. Look more at THUG1 and less at THP8/THPG. They shouldn't slow you down (or at least so much), and should be decently flexible with the angle.
- Double-tap flips, grabs, and grinds.
- Better/more forgiving wallrides
- Please no with the grind slam stuff, at least option to disable
Online stuff
- 8+ players minimum online
- Observe/spectate; After 0 AND sit-out/whatever
- Options for game time lengths
- More fluid online gaming. Games should default to freeskate online, freeskate between games etc. Just look at THPS3-THAW really, pretty much perfect online system
- Server browser
- Collision OFF by default!
- Everyone same stats/no powerups

Here's what I hope for,
in a "single-player" PoV:
-Replay mode with advanced camera setting, so we can share some cool screenshot.:D
-Fixed many trick animation, like The 900. I hope they bring back The 900 animation from THPS2! :D.
-Add unique-unlockable skateboard legend.
-Add advanced graphic settings
-...
-...
-...
-
-
The main things I'm hoping for are:
- A PC version first of all. For said PC version:
- Not lacking any features, like online.
- Instant controller and keyboard button prompt swaps. THHD just had the button textures replaced with keyboard keys.
- Rebinding controls. Not sure if THHD had this in-game, but I think you could modify the controls ini? THPS5 should in-game though.
Here's a kinda crazy one, which might be more difficult to pull off on the current consoles, but what about giving owners of THHD the THHD levels in THPS5? If THPS5 does play better, it'd be cool to at least replay those levels in a better game, and since both games seem to use Unreal Engine 3 (Has it been confirmed for THPS5?) and Robomodo did both, it couldn't be too hard to convert.
I'm just not sure how they'd let PS4/Xbone players redeem those. Maybe just put them in the game anyway, seriously. THHD flopped and isn't going to sell much anymore anyway and it'd be some goodwill towards the fanbase.
