Title: Play in levels of other games
Post by: CeilingRide on November 26, 2019, 10:27:33 am
Hello everyone and thank you for making this amazing project live. (Sorry for my english)

I had a question about creating levels. Do you think it is possible to "extract" and edit levels of other games? (I was thinking of the Jet Set Radio levels for example, especially "Bantam Street" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sV9GEoG5S5g which could be extremely interesting to ride in. Or the small park in the center of los santos in san andreas for example ...
Is it better to leave since the beginning to recreate? Textures can they be extracted from a dreamcast game?
I don't know blender for modeling etc but would be delighted to learn and then share. Tank You

I imagine it'd be a little painful to get things working at a 1:1 ratio due to how THUGPRO's engine reads meshes and such, but theoretically yes what you're asking for is possible, as long as it can be delivered to THUGPRO in a way that it recognizes.

Thank you for your answer. I have no programming knowledge and think that by adding a few quarters, gaps etc here and there it could become very interesting (especially for fans of both games ^^). Some levels of Trasher, skate and destroy could be fun too, if it's not already done. I start Blender at once, it's not easy. If anyone can direct me to tutorials (preferably in french if I have permission to dream) I would be very grateful. I believe that Unity, 3Ds Max could also be useful for modeling / extraction.
