I'm working on making a skateboarding game like the tony hawk games

You'll really have to get custom with the physics if you want to make it feel like the TH games. Your best bet is to study up on how TH games are coded. It's really advanced stuff. I don't think it could be recreated with Blueprints but it's possible if you are coding the classes in C++. Best to start small and build from there. The main thing you want to capture is the snappiness of the original games. If you play THPSHD or THPS5, and then play THUG1/2, you will notice right away how sloppy the controls are compared to the originals. It really needs to be built like a fighter game where you have the least amount of lag as possible for controller inputs.

We've got a lot of amazing tools at our disposal these days but making something on par with what Neversoft did, is most likely impossible for a single person. I am all for anyone giving it a go though!

I don't know where to start, first thanks for giving a damm, now, yea i understand, id have to re do the phsyics, as yes, they are way more crap compared to the older games, which i have played, i own almost evrey tony hawk game, but i also understand i wont get far with just blueprints, i just used it as a design type thing, to get my ideas down, but I know it would take alot of work, but if i could pull it off, it would be great, cause i think alot of people would be really happy, but yea, i understand id try to make it feel like the old tony hawk games, and I understand completly, ive played all of robomodos tony hawk games(minus ride, but have played shred) and the main thing i find really wrong is the physics, i would try to get the basic physics down first before doing alot of devolpment of the rest of the game, but yea, I am trying to do my best, designing, planing, and even trying to get stuff going on UnReal, so yea...  :)

I have a suggestion: For now, just try to get the physics right and allow us to use this engine to port/make our own levels in for starters, there's a ton of that happening with thug pro now.

That doesn't make any sense, chad.

But that would require a whole diffrent set of codes, and even then, id have to make a working extension for blender and stuff to allowe you to even export the levels into the right files

Chad Morgan:
Sorry, that rambling stemmed from thinking how cool it would be to have something like this to import levels in, a truly next-gen tony hawk game.  Even without that, I would love to see this come out, especially if it feels authentic to the neversoft games (at least closer than Robomodo ever got.) But I truly don't expect this will ever come out, so if nothing else happens having a game with no levels to import levels into made sense in my very tired brain that was for some idiotic reason up at 2AM while typing that drivel.  That being said, the fact you're doing this at all is AMAZING, and I am so proud of you for even trying. Still, weather finished by yourself or with help, it'd be awesome if after it was made it would allow imported levels at some point.  On a slightly unrelated note, to make sure that your physics feel right, maybe you could import a level from thug pro or thpsHD so you have a real tony hawk level to test the physics on?  IDK if that even would work, it's more complicated than that I'm sure, but I wonder if that would help in getting it to feel right.  What era are you trying to emulate anyway?  The thug physics?  The pro skater physics?  The next-gen Proving Ground physics?  I'm excited for anything you do here, man.  KEEP IT UP!
